PORTLAND – The Portland Sea Dogs and the Portland Pirates are teaming up to present the Ameriprise Financial Celebrity Softball Challenge to benefit the Maine Children’s Cancer Program on Tuesday at Hadlock Field in Portland. The family event is free and open to the public.

The event, which will include local celebrities and sports personalities, is highlighted by the participation of former Boston Bruins’ Rick Middleton and Bob Sweeney.

The evening will include a live performance from the Don Campbell Band at 6 p.m., a baseball demonstration by Winterport native and former major leaguer Mike Bordick at 6:30 p.m., a home run derby at 7 p.m. and the softball game at 8 p.m.

Raffles will be held during the event.
