Wessell key as Trenton offense rolls over Waldo

BLUE HILL – Collin Henry smacked a solo home run in the top of the third and Blake Wessell added two doubles, a single and scored two runs to lead Trenton to an 11-0 American Legion baseball win over Waldo Thursday.

Lucas Marks and A.J. Pennartz each had two singles for Trenton.

Noah Burke doubled and Brendan Gardner singled for Waldo.

At Old Town Wednesday, Ryan Shute hit a bases-loaded, two-run single in the top of the eighth to give Waldo the lead for good and the win over Orono.

Miles Davee had a solo homer, a double and a single for Waldo. Shute and Josh Nickerson each tallied four singles and Brendan Gardiner chipped in with two singles. Josh Wentworth added two singles and a double.

Dustin Thomas notched two singles and two runs scored and Corey Andrews had two singles, a double and two runs for Orono.

At Old Town, the Penquis Navigators scored seven unearned runs in the second via four hits and two Orono errors and knocked off the Twins.

Dan Beatham scattered eight hits over seven innings to notch the win and also hit three singles for the Navigators. Nick Emery had two singles, Josh Pelletier slammed a home run, and Tim McCarthy doubled.

Jarrett Lukas had a triple, single and two RBIs for Orono. Travis Dunton had two doubles and Dana Leland added two singles. Travis Bryant doubled.

Presque Isle sweeps Calais

At Presque Isle, Tyler Lamoreux struck out 11 batters in the first game and Matt McGlinn belted two homers in the second to lead Presque Isle to an 11-3 and 13-2 sweep of Calais.

In the first game, Pat Thibodeau singled twice with an RBI and Harry Austin doubled with an RBI for Presque Isle. McGlinn and Dustin Haines each had two singles and Devin Hersey chipped in with a double.

Jeff Ramsdell hit a two-run homer in the top of the first and added a single for Calais.

In the second game, McGlinn launched a two-run home run in the first and a solo homer in the fourth to pace Presque Isle.

Hersey added a three-run double and Hunter Caron added a double and a single.

Ramsdell singled twice for Calais.
