BLUE BILL – The public is invited to attend free stream habitat assessment training along Carleton Stream from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 25.

Marine Environmental Research Institute staff and biologists will demonstrate methods of determining the ecosystem’s health by observing erosion patters and aquatic life.

Participants will meet at 9:45 a.m. at the MERI Center for Marine Studies and carpool to the field site. Bring weather-appropriate clothing, waterproof boots, insect repellent, drinking water and a snack.

MERI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the marine environment and human health through research and education.

To register, call Greg Williams at 374-2135 or e-mail gwilliams@meriresearch.org.
