Religion in brief BANGOR: SUMMER PASSION

A modern dress version of the Passion Play – the arrest and trial of Jesus, according to Matthew – will be presented July 21-23 at the Union Street Brick Church. The cast is made up of people from various denominations and from a variety of area churches. It’s the fifth year the Passion Play has been presented at the church on the corner of Main and Union streets. Linnea Flanzala, Kelly Nelson Santiago, Canda Santiago, Kim Slininger, Matthew McDonald, Laurie Rich, Alan Townsend, Lee Witting and Charlene Kent Witting are performing once again in this encore presentation. Bernie Kellish, new to the cast, performs as Jesus. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 21-22, and at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 23. Proceeds help offset the cost of operating the Union Street Brick Church, the oldest church in Bangor and the one with the highest steeple. Call 945-9798.
