A Baileyville man died in a car accident Saturday morning on Route 9 near Chick Hill in Clifton.
Michael Manza, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle left the road, struck a rock edge, then rolled over, according to reports.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department responded at 4:45 a.m. to the scene, where they saw Manza’s two-door car smashed badly on the passenger side and resting nose down in a ditch.
The investigation is still on-going, but early reports said fatigue appeared to play a role in the crash.
No other cars were involved in the accident.
The July 15 accident is the third fatal crash in two months in Clifton.
