BANGOR – A New York man died after he crashed his motorcycle on the Odlin Road near the Ground Round restaurant on Monday night, according to Bangor police.

The 49-year-old man from Liverpool, N.Y., was driving south on the Odlin Road toward I-395 at about 10:30 p.m. when he left the road and ended up about 20 feet into the woods.

Bangor police did not disclose his name and said they would not until his family was notified.

Investigators were at the scene late Monday night to reconstruct the accident.

Police closed parts of Route 2 known as the Odlin Road between Hammond Street and the Ground Round for more than an hour while the reconstruction teams worked to find the cause of the accident.
