BANGOR – George Tripp hit two singles and drove in two runs as the West gained home-field advantage for the championship series by defeating the East 11-1 Sunday in the inaugural Bay League all-star game at Husson College.

Brian Hackett added two singles and two RBIs for the West. Phil Cayford and P.J. Dowe each drove in a run and tallied two singles, and Nate Hall had two singles and a run scored.

Rich Flynn doubled and singled for the East, and Chris McInnis smacked an RBI single. Ryan Logan added a double and James Gray contributed a single.

Gov. John Baldacci threw out the first pitch Sunday. The Bay League championship series will be held the week of Aug. 19.
