Bangor West rolls to victory

ELLSWORTH – Josiah Hartley hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning and Dylan Morris added a double and two singles to lead Bangor West past Waldoboro 16-3 in the state Little League All-Star tourney for ages 11-12 Monday.

Hartley added a double and Bobby Winchell notched two doubles. Wyatt Frost and Cody Savage had two singles apiece for Bangor West.

John Murray put Waldoboro on the board with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first, and Shane Osier chipped in with a double and two singles. Cody Ames singled and doubled for Waldoboro.

Yarmouth 9, Bucksport 3

At Ellsworth, Campbell Haley’s two-run homer in the fifth and Louis Distasio’s solo home run in the first led the Yarmouth attack past Bucksport.

Nick Melville tallied three singles and Harry Ridge added two singles for the winners.

Cody Davis belted a two-run home run in the second inning to lead Bucksport.

At Ellsworth, C.J. Marksup hit a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth to lift Saco to the victory.

Luke Cote had a solo homer in the third for Elliot Avenue of Auburn and Ben Chicone doubled.

At Henderson Field in Holden, District 6 champion Portland North took advantage of a nine-run second inning to roll past District 2 champ Waldo.

Kyle Reichert belted a two-run homer in the second inning and Tim Robnak drove in three runs on a single and two triples for the winners. Mike Flaherty added a two-run double and Nate Smart singled twice with two RBIs. Luke Boyle tallied a single and a double .

Lukas Lockhart led Waldo with an RBI double and a single, and Buddy Ellis added an RBI double. Adam Higgins notched two singles and drove in a run and Zach Beaudry doubled.

At Holden, Bobby Began singled in the winning run in the top of the seventh for Saco.

Brandon Briggs doubled twice to knock in three runs while C.J. Pelletier added an RBI double for the winners.

Sam Grindle had three singles and Hayden Ciomei two singles for Coastal of Blue Hill.

John Deschaine and Josh Theriault each doubled and singled for Holbrook.

Ben Hardie tallied a double and a single for the winners.

At Ellsworth, Leigh Wyman, Sara Collmus and Alli Carver each hit three singles to lead Falmouth past Saco.

Michaela Franco, Lauren O’Donnell and Ashley Collins chipped in two singles apiece and Addie Weller doubled and singled.

Katie Kalagias and Chrissy Remmes each drove in a run on a single for Saco.

At Ellsworth, Nicole Murphy smacked a single, a triple and a double, and Emily Cox tripled and singled as Orrington rolled past Calais.

Rebecca Redding hit an RBI single for Calais.

At Ellsworth, Amanda Turcotte belted two doubles and a single, and Emily Johnson chipped in with a double and a triple to lead Auburn past Rockland.

Miranda Casey doubled and Kayla Nadeau singled twice for Auburn.

Danika Gustin and Zoe Proctor each notched three singles, and Hannah Hersom and Rebecca Henderson singled twice. Lindsay Renquist added a double and two singles for Rockland.
