FORT KENT – The University of Maine at Fort Kent has named Cristoval George Ayala as its assistant director of residential life and wellness. Before his appointment at UMFK, Ayala held several positions at the University of Kentucky and achieved his Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky.

Ayala is working on a Master of Science in Higher Education degree at the University of Kentucky.

FORT KENT – Joanne Fortin, RN, Director of Nurses at Northern Maine Medical Center has announced that Cheryl Daigle, RN, has been promoted to the position of nurse manager for the obstetrics unit.

“She has a natural ability of setting minds at ease for patients and families who are dealing with stress and fears of hospitalization and illness. Nothing is ever a ‘problem’ in Cheryl’s eyes,” Fortin commented.

Daigle resides in New Canada with her husband, Bob, and children, Daniel and Courtney.
