An accident on Interstate 95 involving a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan and a tractor-trailer truck sent an Orono woman to a Bangor hospital with minor injuries.

Pamela M. Savoy, 63, was headed southbound in the Caravan toward Exit 180 when she reportedly pulled into the left lane to pass Mark Mackey, 51, who was driving a tractor-trailer licensed to Leroy Dedicated Logistics Inc., out of Albany, N.Y.

Savoy attempted to move back into the right lane, but cut her wheel too soon and ran into the front of the tractor-trailer, according to Sgt. Christopher Coleman of the Maine State Police.

Savoy then jerked her wheel away from the truck, sending her vehicle down an embankment into the median, nearly entering the northbound lane before the van came to a rest in the median, Coleman said.

Mackey did not suffer any injuries from the accident, but the front left side of the truck he was driving was dented, according to Maine State Police Trooper Robert Giles of the commercial vehicle division.

Coleman said Savoy’s injuries did not appear life-threatening.

The Caravan was towed from the scene, and Coleman estimated it was totaled.

A Brewer woman was issued a summons for assault Tuesday after she allegedly yelled at a woman to stay off her South Main Street lawn and then slapped her across the face.

Two people witnessed Catherine Brandolini, 44, scream at and slap a 22-year-old Brewer woman who was walking along South Main Street, according to Brewer police reports.

The two women did not know each other before the incident, but Brandolini told Brewer police Officer Elizabeth Kelley and Sgt. David Lord that the woman had been walking on her lawn Monday.

Brandolini denied slapping the woman.
