HOLDEN – Pinch-runner Chip Weber scored the winning run on a Nick Volger fielder’s choice in the sixth inning to lead Portland North past Dirigo 6-5 and into the state championship game of the Little League baseball tournament for ages 10-11 Wednesday.

Portland North will take on Saco, who knocked off Waldo 4-3 earlier in the day, in today’s title game at 3:30 p.m.

In the second game, Kyle Reichert hit a two-run double in the third inning for Portland North and Ryan Casale added a two-run double in the second inning. Tim Rovnak singled twice and Mike Flaherty doubled.

Caleb Rivera brought Dirigo within a run in the fifth with a two-run single and Darrell St. Jean tied it later in the inning with an RBI single. Don Suga doubled.

In the first game, Zack Lombard hit a sacrifice fly fifth inning to drive in Bobby Begin to give Saco the 4-3 lead and the win over Waldo.

Begin singled twice and knocked in a run for Saco. Jeff Gelinas hit an RBI double in the third inning and Brandon Briggs doubled.

Nick Rodgerson tripled and doubled for Waldo and Dillan Moody had two singles. Buddy Ellis and Adam Higgins each singled and scored a run.

At Ellsworth, Ryan Locke and C.J. Maksut each had a two-run double as Saco rolled to the win in four innings.

Bryan Ballaire added a double of his own for Saco.

Buddy Simmons knocked a solo homer for Waldoboro.

At Ellsworth, Ryan Cody slammed a two-run homer and Louie Dastasio had a pair of RBI singles as Yarmouth pounded Bangor West.

Harry Ridge singled twice and Josh Brenton doubled and singled for Yarmouth.

Bobby Winchell hit a two-run homer for Bangor West.
