It is appalling to read about a man who holds two jobs (BDN, July 22-23) but cannot get ahead.
He can spend little time with his family and has no health insurance. Meanwhile, the corporate heads and the political leaders of this country have amassed fortunes by exploiting the workers. This economy is clearly working for them.
I would love to see George W. Bush and Dick Cheney try to support their families on the current minimum wage. The estate tax should not be repealed – it should be significantly raised for the very wealthy, especially in view of the fact that their estates would not be so big without the working poor.
