BANGOR – Matt Lee pitched six strong innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out nine as South Portland opened the state Junior League baseball tournament with a 7-1 victory over Auburn at Mansfield Stadium Friday morning.

Lee also hit two singles and drove in a run while Mike Foler had a double and two RBIs for South Portland.

Ryan Arnold had an RBI single while Brandon Giguere and Jordan Haskell each added a single for Auburn.
