BRADLEY: EDDINGTON MAN DIES IN ACCIDENT; MEDICAL CONDITION CITED

An Eddington man died late Thursday afternoon after his car left the road and struck a three-unit apartment complex, state police said. At about 4 p.m., Anthony Roy, 59, was driving north on Route 178 in Bradley when he experienced a medical condition and his car left the road, slamming into the side of the housing unit at 61 Main Road, Trooper Kyle Willette said. “We’re treating it as a medical emergency rather than a traffic crash,” Willette said. Nobody was in the apartment building at the time of the crash, but it did receive extensive damage, the trooper said. Roy was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor by an Old Town Fire and Rescue ambulance, but was pronounced dead at the hospital. There was nobody else in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and speed and alcohol were not considered factors in the crash. Roy’s sister-in-law, Ruth Roy, said his dog, a Welsh Corgi named Teka, was in the car at the time of the crash but had not been found as of late Thursday night.
