Free ice cream, fun at Dakin Pool
A summer celebration featuring FREE ice cream, FUN prizes and COOL summer music will be held 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at Dakin Pool.
The community celebration is funded by a grant from the Maine Community Foundation, and admission to Dakin Pool is free. Pool hours will be extended to 6:30 p.m. for the celebration. In June the Friends of Dakin Pool announced a $100,000 capital campaign for Bangor’s first public swimming pool.
“Summer in the City – The Campaign for Dakin Pool” will support enhancements and improvements to the area around the pool. The campaign total is approaching the halfway mark, and organizers hope to reach the goal by the end of September.
Dakin Pool is located on Bangor’s east side at the end of Pine Street off Stillwater Avenue – across from Broadway Park.
