Injured Union woman says dog toppled her

PORTLAND – A Union woman initially placed on life support Saturday after being found unconscious at her Baker Road home in Union has told police her dog knocked her down.

Dawn Dyleski, 46, remained hospitalized Tuesday in satisfactory condition, a Maine Medical Center spokeswoman said, noting her condition had improved from the previous day.

“She’s telling us she was knocked down by her dog,” state Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Tuesday. “This investigation is winding down as a result.”

According to Detective Dean Jackson, the woman’s boyfriend, who found her unconscious, believes her dog jumped at her, knocked her down and caused her head injury.
