LEWISTON – The State Rehabilitation Council, a governor-appointed advisory board, will be hosting a Public Forum on Vocational Rehabilitation from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Lewiston Ramada Inn.

The vocational rehabilitation program of the Maine Department of Labor helps people with disabilities get jobs. The purpose of the forum is to solicit input from VR clients, providers and others about the VR system. The forum will focus on three questions:

. What’s working in VR and what should be preserved or expanded?

. What’s not working and needs to be changed?

. What should VR do that it currently isn’t doing?

Presenters will be asked to give examples and to make recommendations to improve services, if necessary.

There is no cost to attend the forum, but in order to be guaranteed an opportunity to speak, pre-register by calling toll-free (866) 622-6655, e-mailing dnichols500@yahoo.com or writing to SRC, 126 Western Ave., PMB #171, Augusta 04330.
