Enrique Arias, 18, of Waterboro and Joshua Pearcy, 19, of Lyman were arrested Wednesday night after being questioned by police detectives.

Nobody was injured in the shootings, which resulted in shattered car windows and left drivers on edge after several moving vehicles were fired upon on the Maine Turnpike. The shootings appeared random and occurred in Biddeford, Sanford and other parts of York County, as well as Portsmouth, N.H.

Arias is charged with criminal mischief and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon. Pearcy is charged with criminal mischief.

Both are being held in York County Jail.
