Twelve-year-old Samantha, or “Sam” as she prefers to be called, is social, friendly, outgoing, kind, engaging and talkative.

She greatly enjoys the company of others. She easily makes friends and has many. Sam is a very bright pre-teen who has completed the sixth grade and did very well in school.

She is very creative and a good writer who enjoys reading.

She loves to dance, including modern, hip-hop and tap. Sam likes theater and enjoys acting in plays at school and in her community. She takes pleasure in singing and participating in sing-alongs. She plays soccer and has good leadership skills. Sam also enjoys sewing and watching television.

Sam is one of the 155 children in the care of the state Department of Health and Human Services who are seeking adoptive families.

Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
