Kenny is a handsome, 12-year-old boy who likes to please those around him. He enjoys biking, camping, swimming, ice skating and doing family activities. He really likes to play with his Legos, and he is learning to play ice hockey.
Kenny values one-on-one attention from care providers. He often will ask his caretakers if he is being “a good boy.” He is a sweet child who is well-liked by the adults around him.
Kenny sometimes has difficulty getting along with peers, but he is learning coping skills to manage his frustration with adults and peers. With appropriate role models and patience, those who work with Kenny believe he can achieve this goal.
Kevin, Kenny’s 8-year-old brother, is an adorable little boy with red hair, blue eyes and freckles. However, Kevin does not like people commenting about his hair color and how cute he is.
Kevin is active and engaging. He enjoys sewing, cooking, playing outside and any other activity where he can build things. He recently participated in soccer and swimming lessons and he currently participates in Boy Scouts.
Kevin is curious, enjoys learning and experimenting, and seems to like science. He is very bright and enjoys participating in many different types of activities. Kevin does best when he receives one-on-one attention from an adult, although he can entertain himself and play with other children. He is able to make friends and is seeking positive friendships at school.
Kenny and Kevin would do best in an experienced, two-parent family who will remain committed to them. The brothers need a loving family who will provide them with structure, appropriate role modeling, consistency, affection and support.
Kenny and Kevin are two of the 155 children currently in Maine Department of Health and Human Services care who are seeking an adoptive family.
Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
