CONCORD, N.H. – A former day care worker who pleaded guilty to producing child pornography was sentenced to 21 years in prison Wednesday.
Jeffrey Edmunds, 40, admitted to taking pornographic pictures of four children he was supposed to be caring for. Authorities said he created the pornographic images in New Hampshire and then transported them back to his home in Maine. He pleaded guilty in March.
The case began in 2005, when Edmunds was accused of secretly videotaping young girls in a changing room in Bridgton, Maine. He was never charged in that case, but police said that during the investigation, they found pornographic images created in Conway, N.H., where Edmunds had worked at a day care center.
“I’m glad. I’m gratified,” said Michelle Bragdon, who said her 10-year-old daughter was secretly videotaped by Edmunds in Maine. “Even after he’s released, he won’t be free for the rest of his life. This is closure for us. It’s closure for our children.”
