ORONO – The University of Maine football team is holding its inaugural “Meet the Black Bears Night” Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Alfond Stadium. The free event, open to youths in grades eight and under, will give fans and their parents an up-close look at coach Jack Cosgrove’s team during a two-hour practice.

The youngsters, who will have sideline access to the practice, will get a chance after the session to meet Black Bear players and coaches, get autographs and take photos. Participants receive a free ticket to UMaine’s Sept. 23 home opener against Shaw University. Call 581-1485 for more information.
