SOUTHWEST HARBOR -The first Mt. Desert Island Music and Arts Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Smugglers Den Campgrounds in Southwest Harbor.

Performers will include folk artist Livingston Taylor, folk legend Tom Rush, folk rock icon Jonathan Edwards, bluegrass performers Northern Lights, Maine musicians Schooner Fare, rockers Pat Colwell and Soul Sensations, and Southwest Harbor country musician Danny Harper.

In addition to an entire day of music, the festival will also feature numerous food vendors and local artisans.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under in advance and $45 for adults and $15 for children at the gate.
