I recently attended the three-day American Folk Festival in Bangor and thoroughly enjoyed it.
While returning home to Houlton, by Route 2, I could hardly believe what I saw. From Lincoln, all the way to Aroostook County, I must have seen thousands of the fall web worm webs in the trees. Some trees had 10 to 20 webs in them.
These caterpillars should be taken down, by crews, before they take over everything. A recent article said to use a long pole, with a nail sticking out of the end, to pull them down, then burn and destroy them. I hope it is done.
