BAR HARBOR – Sean Parady hit Collin Walton for two touchdown passes and ran for another as the MDI football team opened with a 42-13 victory over Maranacook of Readfield Saturday.

Parady had passes of 29 and 22 yards to Walton, and completed two 2-point conversions, one to Walton and another to Max Dority.

Tyler Murphy ran for two touchdowns and Odane Gaynor added another rushing TD for MDI.

Dority paced MDI’s defense with eight tackles and two assists. Andrew Leiser chipped in with seven tackles and two assists, and Alex Keene had an interception.

Maranacook’s Josh Morse connected with Corey Palmer for a touchdown and Corey Allen ran for a score.

Waterville 50, Hampden 22

At Waterville, the Panthers rolled out to a 36-0 lead thanks to two rushing touchdowns apiece from Mike Bernhardt and Caleb Johnston as the Panthers cruised to the win.

Nate Lancaster, Chris Smith and Jake Bizier each added a score for Waterville.

Hampden’s Shawn Smith scored twice on short TD runs and Eddie Becker added a rushing touchdown.

At Wales, Joey Gilbert and Adam Tremblay each recorded two touchdowns as the Raiders rolled over the Coyotes.

Gilbert pulled down a 26-yard pass from Josh Jillson, who rushed for a TD in the first quarter, and also ran 59 yards for a punt-return score. Tremblay scored on runs of six and 51 yards.

Jarrett Lukas led Old Town with a 34-yard TD run. He also threw a 35-yard pass to Jesse Moreau for a score. Moreau nailed a 27-yard field goal.
