A Bangor man wasn’t supposed to have contact with his former girlfriend as part of a previous arrest, but in recent days he had been calling her. On Monday, he became enraged and assaulted her, according to police reports.
Bangor police charged Joshua Zowghi, 23, of Bangor with assault and violation of bail conditions.
Zowghi, out on bail from an earlier assault arrest, repeatedly called his former girlfriend Sunday, and early Monday morning he went to her residence where an argument ensued, the woman told Bangor police Officer Chris Desmond.
At one point, Zowghi punched her, choked her, head butted her and slapped her, according to the police report.
A Bangor residence on Second Street was broken into sometime between 9:30 p.m. Monday and 12:15 Tuesday, and more than $3,400 worth of property was taken.
The list of missing items included 125 CDs worth about $2,500. The intruder is assumed to have entered through an unlocked window at the front of the building.
A Greenbush woman suffered minor injuries after she was involved in an accident on Main and Cedar streets in Bangor early Tuesday afternoon.
Leah Malave, 37, was heading out on Main Street and according to a witness drove through a red light at the intersection and struck an SUV driven by Muriel Wood, 68, of Bangor. Wood was driving northeast on Cedar Street and had the green light, according to police.
