CALAIS – Macey Gillespie scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the second half to lift the Calais Blue Devils to a 2-1 high school girls soccer victory over Shead of Eastport Tuesday.

Kayla Cobb started the scoring for Calais in the first half with an unassisted goal. Stephanie Perry made five saves on 10 shots for the 1-1-0 Blue Devils.

Whitney Vinson scored the tying goal for Shead while Dorothy Pottle made four saves on 10 shots for the 1-2 Tigerettes.

Woodland 7, East Grand 2

At Woodland, Julia Nichols and Kacie Burke each scored a pair of goals as Woodland rolled past East Grand of Danforth.

Cassandra Brown, Brittany Carter and Ashley LeCroy netted a goal each for the Dragons. Cindy Bergin saved four of six shots.

Tisheea Roy and Malesa Zaneldin netted a goal apiece for East Grand. Courtney Lloyd had 36 saves on 42 shots.

GSA 4, Searsport 1

At Blue Hill, Maddi Park netted two goals to lead George Stevens Academy by Searsport.

Alida Peake scored a goal and grabbed an assist while Emily Peake added a goal. Lydia Clapp and Laura Overton each recorded an assist for George Stevens. Kayla Eaton made 13 saves on 17 shots for the 2-0 Eagles.

Megan Higgins scored for Searsport while Amanda Chaney stopped 21 of 26 shots for the 0-2 Vikings.

Washington Acad. 3, ‘Guagus 1

At East Machias, Jocelyn Corey had a goal and an assist to help lead Washington Academy past the Narraguagus Knights of Harrington.

Andi Flannery scored an unassisted goal and Lily Evans scored the other goal for the 1-0 Raiders. Irene Lewy made two saves on three shots.

Megan Nevells scored on a penalty kick and Samantha Baker had 19 saves on 30 shots for the 0-1 Knights.

Ellsworth 4, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Lauren Peer knocked in a pair of goals to lead Ellsworth past Hermon.

Emily Miller and Jen Richter added a goal apiece for the 2-0 Eagles. Caitie Cravens saved all six shots she faced.

Danielle Ross had 16 saves on 20 shots for 0-1-1 Hermon.

JV: Ellsworth 1-0

Hampden 2, Old Town 0

At Hampden, Michelle Manning and Anna Kalliola each scored a first half goal to lead Hampden Academy to victory.

Katie Chambers received the assist on the goal by Kalliola. Michelle Wells made no saves on two shots for the 2-0 Broncos.

Nicole Guay stopped 17 of 37 shots for 0-2 Old Town.

JV: Hampden 2-0

Central 7, Penquis 1

At Corinth, Emily Blackwell scored two first-half goals and another in the second half to lead Central by Penquis.

Kelsey McHugh, Erica Brownell, Rachael Lewis and Nicole Lemarch each added a goal for Central. Jessica Daniel made four saves on five shots for the 1-1 Red Devils.

Kristin Burch scored the goal for Penquis with the assist coming from Kayla Webb. Shelisha Clark and Sara Lemik combined for 29 saves on 50 shots for the 0-2 Patriots.

Dexter 0, Piscataquis 0

At Guilford, the Pirates and Tigers battled to a double-overtime stalemate.

Ashley Richardson saved nine of 19 shots for the 1-0-1 Tigers while Jill Martell stopped 14 of 16 shots for 0-0-1 Piscataquis.

Waterville 6, Nokomis 0

At Newport, Stephanie Whitten opened the scoring with her first of two goals to lead the 2-0 Panthers by the Warriors.

Kayla Tuttle, Taylor Frame Paige Gardiner and Stacie Whitten each contributed a goal for Waterville. Taylor Hart faced five shots in goal and saved all five.

Goalie Laura Lyford made 14 saves on 20 shots for the 0-2 Warriors.

JV: Waterville 5-1

Lee 7, Schenck 1

At East Millinocket, Aarika Ritchie scored five goals as Lee Academy defeated Schenck.

Amanda Gifford netted two goals and recorded an assist for Lee. Amy Lane stopped one of four shots for the 1-0 Pandas.

Kristen Nicholson scored the goal for Schenck while Toni Thompson made seven saves on 15 shots for the 0-2 Wolverines.

Field Hockey

Belfast 5, Oak Hill 0

At Belfast, Jill Ross scored two second half goals and recorded an assist to lead Belfast by Oak Hill.

Brooke Reed, Britt Cummings and Kallie Aldus each added a goal for Belfast. Stephanie Whittier, Briana Curry and Reed each had an assist. Liz Anderson made one save on one shot for the 2-0 Lions.

Frankie Curtis made 20 saves on 25 shots for 1-1 Oak Hill.

Leavitt 2, Camden Hills 1

At Rockport, Sarah Quimbey scored in the second half and assisted on a Courtney Erskine goal to lead Leavitt of Turner to the win.

Krissy Ellis assisted on Quimbey’s goal for 2-0 Leavitt. Kristen Caper made seven saves on eight shots.

Laura Schelble scored for 1-1 Camden Hills with Amanda Kava getting the assist. Dale Winsper had five saves on seven shots.

JV: Leavitt 7-0

Foxcroft 4, Bangor 0

At Dover-Foxcroft, Kelsey Boss scored three goals to lead Foxcroft past Bangor.

Jen Gagnon had a goal and two assists and Danica Brown an assist for the 2-0 Ponies. Renee Maheu saved all three shots she faced.

Mikela Marshall-Holmes had 12 saves on 16 shots for 0-2 Bangor.

Stearns 4, Hermon 2

At Millinocket, Katie Knowles scored the first of her two goals 15:11 into the second half to put the Minutemen in front to stay.

Adriana Eurich and Mikaela Rosebush added a goal apiece for 2-0 Stearns. Deanna Michaud saved five of six shots.

Lillian Berry scored both goals for the 0-2 Hawks. Carrie Cole had 16 saves on 25 shots.

JV: Stearns 4-0

PCHS 2, Dexter 0

At Dexter, Kelsey Martel and Hattie Agnew each scored a second half goal to lead Piscataquis by Dexter.

Jessica Pratt made six saves on nine shots for the 2-0 Pirates of Guilford.

Katie Poirier stopped four of seven shots for the 0-1-1 Tigers.

Mattanawcook 1, Brewer 0

At Brewer, Bree Hanscom scored a first-half goal to lift the Lynx of Lincoln to victory.

Deni Nicastro assisted on the goal for 1-1 Mattanawcook. Sarah French stopped all six shots she faced.

Angela Patterson had 12 saves on 14 shots for 0-2 Brewer.

Boys soccer

Ellsworth 5, Hermon 0

At Ellsworth, Chris Leighton had two goals and one assist while Luke Haskell and Dem Katsiaficas each had a goal and assist as Ellsworth rolled.

James Mahdoe added a goal and Pat Nabozny an assist for the 2-0 Eagles. Craig Berry had five saves on eight shots.

Josh Blaine saved 18 of 31 shots for 0-2 Hermon.

JV: Ellsworth 4-0

DI-Stonington 5, Sumner 1

At Deer Isle, brothers Collin and Bryant Ciomei combined for five goals to power the Mariners by the Tigers of East Sullivan.

Collin Ciomei, a junior, scored two first-half goals and Bryant, a senior, followed with three in the second half. Max Becton and Ray Garcia each notched an assist and Eben Powers made six saves on seven shots.

Dereck Crocker scored an unassisted second-half goal for Sumner and Andrew Bennett made 15 saves on 25 shots.

Old Town 2, Hampden 1

At Old Town, Corey Fournier’s goal midway through the second half off an assist by Dan LeBreton was the difference as the Coyotes edged the visiting Broncos.

Dillon Clark scored an unassisted goal for the 1-1 Coyotes and Sam Petrie made 14 saves on 15 shots.

Logan Larabee scored unassisted for Hampden Academy and Cam Cox saved 13 of 14 shots for the 1-1 Broncos.

JV: Hampden 11-0

MDI 5, Bucksport 1

At Bucksport, Skylar Lewis and Tarek Dekkaki netted two goals apiece to lead Mount Desert Island to the win.

Nate Paine added a goal of his own for the1-1 Trojans. Jake Merchant had three saves on six shots.

Alex Pappas scored the lone goal for 0-2 Bucksport. Miles Bisher stopped 21 of 34 shots.

JV: MDI 2-0

Georges Valley 4, Winthrop 2

At Winthrop, Angel Olivares scored the game’s final two goals, one with 16:44 left and the second with 11:15 left, to snap a 2-2 tie and give the Buccaneers the victory.

The first goal was headed in by Olivares off a direct kick by Elijah Sprague and the second was unassisted from about 18 yards out.

Mike Eutis scored GV’s first goal unassisted after a scramble in front of the net. Sprague came back with an unassisted goal when he beat a defender one-on-one and pushed his shot past goalie Mike Gingras.

Goalie Mike Platt finished with eight saves on 10 shots for 2-0 GV of Thomaston.

Dave Zimmerman set up Winthrop’s first goal and scored the second, both in the second half. He sent a through pass between defenders for Tim Gingras’ goal, and Ryan Phillips crossed the ball from the right wing for Zimmerman’s goal.

Mike Gingras finished with 13 saves on 19 shots for 0-1 Winthrop.

Waterville 4, Nokomis 1

At Waterville, Noah Spofford knocked in three goals to lead Waterville past Nokomis of Newport.

Tory Quinn added another goal for the 1-1 Panthers and Nick Lee had nine saves on 14 shots.

Andrew Richard scored the lone goal for 0-2 Nokomis with an assist from Dan Kelly. Wayne May had 14 saves on 21 shots.

JV: Waterville 6-3

Greenville 7, Valley 1

At Bingham, Richie Chilson and Will Wheelock each netted two goals to lead Greenville to victory.

Trevor McVey, Corey Woodbury and Keith Aucoin each added a goal for Greenville. Jon Richards and Tim Post each grabbed an assist. Post made eight saves on 10 shots for the Lakers.

Curtis Miller scored the goal for Valley while Jon Hunnewell stopped 12 of 38 shots for the Cavaliers.

Central 4, Bangor Christian 2

At Bangor, Danny Kane netted two unassisted goals to lead Central to victory over Bangor Christian.

Patrick Byers and Ryan Bean each added a goal for Central of Corinth. Charles Haney stopped seven of 14 shots for the 1-0-1 Red Devils.

Phil Dougherty and Brandon Wilcox each scored while Nate Fowler and Zach Welch each grabbed an assist for Bangor Christian. Sam McLeod made 16 saves on 39 shots for the 1-1 Patriots.
