LAGRANGE – A weekend vandalism spree that caused about $4,000 in damage to four road construction vehicles is under investigation by the Maine State Police.

Six windows were broken from an excavator, two front-end loaders and a trailer truck that were parked in a local gravel pit over the weekend. The equipment, owned by Emery Lee and Sons of Medway, is being used for the Route 16 road reconstruction project.

The firm is a subcontractor on the project.
