The Maine Department of Transportation today is shutting down the rest area on Interstate 95 northbound, located about a mile south of the Somerset Avenue exit. According to Sanford Giles of the Maine DOT, the rest stop should reopen sometime on Thursday, Sept. 14. The purpose of the closure is to allow the DOT time to work on the plumbing between a newly installed well and the rest area.
