An appropriation and a housekeeping matter will need voter attention at a special town meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, in the town hall. Residents will be asked to appropriate up to $20,500 from surplus to pay for unanticipated training and equipment costs for the Police Department, which will have a full roster by year’s end. This is a one-time expenditure, Town Manager Jane Jones said Thursday. The town received more in revenue sharing funds than anticipated, and this would offset the police expenditure, according to Jones. Residents also will be asked to nullify the 2004 interlocal agreement with the town of Brownville for the industrial park. Brownville already has taken formal action to dissolve the partnership, and this will be Milo’s final step.
