DOVER-FOXCROFT – A Milo man who pleaded guilty to growing more than 100 marijuana plants in July and for possession of cocaine was among several people sentenced Friday in Piscataquis County Superior Court.
For marijuana cultivation, Nathan Pearl, 25, of Milo, was sentenced to one year to the Department of Corrections with all but 30 days suspended. He was placed on probation for two years.
For his guilty plea on unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, Pearl was sentenced to 10 days in jail and a $400 fine.
He also pleaded guilty to a violation of condition of release and received 20 days in jail. He pleaded guilty to having an improvised explosive device and received one year imprisonment with all but 30 days suspended and two years probation.
Ann M. Witham, 36, of Brownville, also was sentenced. She had pleaded guilty earlier this year to two counts of burglary, theft by unauthorized taking, and stealing drugs from two homes she entered in Brownville on March 23 and March 27.
Justice Jeffrey Hjelm sentenced Witham to three years to the Department of Corrections with all but 60 days suspended on each of the two counts of burglary. She was placed on probation for three years. Witham received 60-day corrections sentences for theft and stealing drugs (codeine) which will be served concurrently.
The superior court session disposed of other cases:
Gordon Leavitt, 70, of Willimantic pleaded no contest Friday to receiving stolen property and received a $200 fine. The property involved an automobile.
David E. Velli, 58, of Abbot who had earlier pleaded guilty to violation of condition of release, was fined $500. A count of driving to endanger was dismissed.
