City of Bangor announces week’s meetings

BANGOR – The following are city meetings and other activities scheduled for this week. All will take place in the council chambers at City Hall unless otherwise indicated.

. Monday: 5 p.m., City Council’s finance committee, agenda includes contract for waterfront design services, state and federal funding for airport capital projects, request to take possession of 135 Birch St.; immediately after finance committee, City Council’s government operations committee, agenda includes rental issues and rate structures and issues relating to general assistance program.

. Tuesday: 5 p.m., City Council’s transportation and infrastructure committee, agenda includes residents’ request to reconfigure Howard Street; 7 p.m., planning board, agenda includes site development plan approval for 11,000-square-foot office building at 1387V Broadway, conditional use and site development plan approval for two six-unit attached residential buildings at 21V Bomarc Road, conditional use and site plan approval to construct rotating airport beacon light on high mast pole off Cleveland Street, contract zone change for permanent racino site at Buck, Main, Emerson and Lincoln streets, site development plan approval for 1,920-square-foot bus wash facility at 796 Odlin Road.

. Wednesday: 5 p.m., City Council’s business and economic development committee, agenda includes West Market Square design proposal from Ames A/E, Penobscot Theater funding request, review of final plans for Union Place redevelopment, authorization of license for asbestos removal at 107 Maine Ave., Sears Island resolution, executive session regarding lease negotiations for 498 Main Ave

. Thursday: 5 p.m., Dakin Pool executive committee, city manager’s office, agenda includes update on “Summer in the City” fundraising campaign, purchase of goods through city for renovation project, future use of capital project fund.

. Friday: 7:30 a.m., commission for cultural development, agenda includes discussion with representatives of Bangor Museum and Center for History.
