COLLEGE

Brian York

Maine Maritime Academy freshman Brian York of East Millinocket was named the North Atlantic Conference Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week. York finished first in the UMaine-Presque Isle Invitational running the 4.96 mile course in 32:05.

Laura Williamson

Colby College senior forward Laura Williamson was named the NESCAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Williamson had three goals in a 1-0-1 week for the Mules. She scored two goals in a 4-0 win over UM-Farmington and the tying goal in a 1-1 draw against Bowdoin.

Brett Howarth

University of Maine at Machias senior forward Brett Howarth was honored as the Sunrise Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Howarth scored two goals, including the game-tying goal against Maine Maritime Academy.

Howard Gray

University of Maine at Machias senior defender Howard Gray was named the Sunrise Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Lily Porteus

Senior outside hitter Lily Porteus of the University of Maine at Machias was named the Volleyball Player of the Week by the Sunrise Conference. Porteus had 14 kills and seven aces in two wins.

Rianne Barker

University of Maine at Machias freshman outside hitter Rianne Barker was honored as the Sunrise Conference Volleyball Rookie of the Week. Barker recorded 12 kills and eight digs in two Clipper victories.

Sarah Pinette

University of Maine at Fort Kent freshman forward Sarah Pinette was named the Sunrise Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Pinette scored three first-half goals for the Bengals.

Megan Watson

Sophomore sweeper Megan Watson of the University of Maine at Fort Kent was honored as the Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week by the Sunrise Conference.
