NICK HUBBARD
Hubbard, a member of the John Bapst of Bangor boys soccer team, scored three goals in two games as the Crusaders remained unbeaten. He scored two goals Saturday as John Bapst defeated previously unbeaten and defending Eastern Maine Class B champion Presque Isle 3-2. Hubbard also scored a goal Tuesday as the Crusaders rallied past Mount Desert Island 3-2 to improve their record to 6-0.
Small School (Classes C-D)
BRAD BELLEMARE
Bellemare, a running back and safety for the Foxcroft Academy football team, rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries as the Ponies remained undefeated with a 30-0 victory over Bucksport. Bellemare scored on a pair of 6-yard runs, and also kicked two extra points while surpassing the 100-yard mark rushing for the second straight week.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
CHRISTINA ANDRLE
A senior left inner for the John Bapst of Bangor field hockey team, Andrle scored all four goals in a 4-0 win over Brewer last week. She had an assist in a 2-0 win over Old Town and scored the game-winner in overtime for a 2-1 victory against Bangor.
Small School (Classes C-D)
AMANDA GIFFORD
Lee Academy’s Gifford, a junior center midfielder, racked up 10 goals last week, including three in a 5-3 victory over previously undefeated Penobscot Valley of Howland last Wednesday. Gifford also won the Searsport Vikings Invitational cross country race Saturday in a time of 19 minutes, 16 seconds, to lead the Pandas to a team win.
