Boutilier, Warriors deal Pandas first loss

DYER BROOK – Jeremy Boutilier’s unassisted goal 10 minutes into the second half proved to be the winner as the Southern Aroostook Warriors handed the Lee Academy Pandas their first loss of the season, 2-1 in high school boys soccer action Friday.

Boutilier also had a hand in the first goal, assisting Josh Branscombe with an indirect kick in the first half. Colby Clark made 13 saves on 14 shots for the 6-4 Warriors.

Brandon Crocker scored unassisted for 5-1-1 Lee Academy. Jonathan Cammack made five saves on seven shots.

Hampden 2, Waterville 0

At Hampden, Aaron Gilio scored on a Fletcher Reed assist with 24:08 left in regulation to propel Hampden Academy to victory.

Nick Beal added an insurance goal with 7:52 left in the second half on a John D’Haiti assist for the 6-2 Broncos. Cam Cox turned away five of nine shots.

Nick Lee saved nine of 19 shots he faced for the 4-3 Purple Panthers.

Mt. Blue 4, Nokomis 0

At Farmington, Jamie Sawyer and Devin Ferriera each tallied a goal and an assist to lead Mt. Blue over Nokomis of Newport.

Brad Dority and Alex Prentiss each scored a goal for the 5-2-1 Cougars. Joe Whalen made three saves on seven shots.

Wayne May saved seven of 17 shots for the 1-6 Warriors.

Winslow 2, Mount View 1

At Thorndike, Derek Veilleux scored the game-winning goal on a direct kick four minutes into the second half.

Matt Farrell scored on a penalty kick for the 5-1-2 Black Raiders. Tyler Levasseur made 12 saves on 18 shots.

Cody Zaned netted a goal on a penalty kick for the 3-3-2 Mustangs. Ross Caron made 16 saves on 21 shots.

Woodland 5, Machias 0

At Machias, Chad James netted three goals to lead Woodland of Baileyville past Machias.

Cody Sappier and Jeremy Burke each scored a goal for the 5-2 Dragons. Todd Townsend made six saves on nine shots.

Michael Jenkins recorded 10 saves on 18 shots for the 2-5 Bulldogs.

Highview Chr. 2, Chop Point 0

At Woolwich, Thomas Fernandez and Hieu Lam scored a goal apiece to pace Highview Christian of Charleston past Chop Point.

Josh Mountain tallied an assist and Jonas Kramer made eight saves on 16 shots for the 3-0 Knights.

Riley O’Donnell recorded 14 saves on 28 shots for 0-4 Chop Point.

Piscataquis 3, Penquis 1

At Guilford, Jarrod Robinson netted two goals to lead Piscataquis past Penquis of Milo.

Andy Zimmerman tallied a goal and an assist for the 6-2-1 Pirates. Ryan Martell saved two on three shots.

Nathan Allen scored the lone goal for the 0-8 Patriots. Goalie Brian Zwicker made 14 saves on 22 shots.

Old Town 2, Skowhegan 1

At Old Town, Luke Bartlett scored off a pass from Evan Paradis with 8:41 left in the game as the Coyotes completed a second-half rally.

Paradis had tied it for 4-2-1 Old Town off a free kick by Ben Costello. Ethan Shanley and Sam Petrie combined for six saves on eight shots.

Jarod Wescott gave the 0-8 Indians a lead when he scored during a scramble in front of the goal in the first half. Allan Mackay stopped 12 of 14 shots.

Girls soccer

Nokomis 0, Mt. Blue 0 (2OT)

At Newport, Nokomis and Mt. Blue of Farmington played to a scoreless tie through two overtimes.

Laura Lyford made 18 saves on 27 shots for the 1-4-3 Warriors.

Caitlin Scott stopped eight of 13 shots for the 4-2-1 Cougars.

JV: Nokomis 4-0

Ellsworth 3, John Bapst 1

At Ellsworth, Casey Wyman scored two goals and assisted on another as Ellsworth remained undefeated.

Tessa Rockwood added a goal and Maggie Harding chipped in an assist. Catie Cravens made five saves on eight shots for the 7-0 Eagles.

Catherine Lammert scored on a penalty kick for the 3-3-1 Crusaders. Caroline Cassling made 10 saves on 15 shots.
