Brendon M. Esquibel has entered basic cadet training at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Cadet trainees are prepared to adjust from civilian to military life and disciplines, train outdoors live in tents, and learn to function in field conditions.

Cadets complete obstacle, confidence, assault and leadership reaction courses, and they participate in a rescue mission called Operation Warrior.

Esquibel is the son of Kimberly Esquibel of Caribou and is a 2006 graduate of Presque Isle High School.
