WATERVILLE – The weekend stabbings of three men remain under investigation, with no arrests reported yet, police said as they identified those who were injured.
Police Chief John Morris on Monday identified the three injured men as Javier Diaz, 20, Dontay Bryant, 28, both of the Waterville area, and Carlos Rodriguez, 24, who rented the Gold Street apartment where the stabbings took place.
Morris said all three men are recent arrivals in the Waterville area from other states.
He said investigators from state and city police are trying to determine what led to the stabbings. So far, they have received conflicting information from people who have been interviewed, Morris said.
Police were called to a corner in the city’s South End early Saturday for a report that two men, Diaz and Bryant, were lying in pools of blood in front of a store. A trail of blood led to an apartment where police found Rodriguez with his throat cut.
