PORTLAND – The founder and chairman of Interface Inc., one of the world’s largest interior furnishings companies, will address environmental and political leaders at the Maine League of Conservation Voters’ fourth annual Evening for the Environment Thursday.

Ray C. Anderson will discuss the importance of environmental awareness in the business community. Under Anderson’s leadership, Interface, the parent company of Guilford of Maine, has worked to change its processes, products and new technologies to reduce waste and harmful emissions, the league said.

The public is invited to attend the event at 5:30 p.m. at the University of Southern Maine’s Glickman Library. Tickets are $25. For information, call 373-1221 or visit www.mlcv.org.
