DANFORTH – Cody Sappier netted a goal and recorded two assists to lead the Woodland boys soccer team to a 3-2 high school win over East Grand Friday.

Chad James scored and grabbed an assist while Scott Boomer added a goal for Woodland. Todd Townsend made four saves on six shots for the 7-2 Dragons.

Ricky Parks stopped 16 of 23 shots for the 1-5-1 Vikings.

Ellsworth 2, Foxcroft Acad. 0

At Dover-Foxcroft, Luke Haskell and James Doe each scored a goal as Ellsworth shut out Foxcroft Academy.

Dem Katsiaficas and Zach Emeigh each tallied an assist for Ellsworth. Greg Berry made four saves on eight shots for the Eagles.

Eben Bridges made 12 saves on 30 shots for the Ponies.

JV: Ellsworth 4-0

Machias 2, Narraguagus 1

At Harrington, Dwight Whitney scored 10:13 into the second half to give the Bulldogs the winning margin.

Whitney assisted on a first-half goal by Ty Richards for 4-5 Machias. Mike Jenkins made six saves on nine shots.

Gustavo Ortiz had tied the game with an unassisted goal one minute into the second half. Brandon Meserve and Kyle Tenan combined to make nine saves on 12 shots.

Highview Chr. 13, Chop Point 1

At Charleston, Jonas Kramer scored five goals as Highview Christian Academy cruised by Chop Point of Woolwich.

Jonathan Reed, Son Thanh Mac and Thomas Fernandez each netted two goals while Chad Crooker and William Allard each added one. Scott Wilhite made four saves on eight shots for the 4-2 Knights.

Ethan Ford scored on a penalty kick for 0-5 Chop Point while Riley O’Donnell made 12 saves on 45 shots.
