Public meetings will be held in Lewiston, Bangor and Waterville this week to present the Brookings Report, a study of Maine’s economic future published by a Washington, D.C.-based think tank,.

Commissioned by GrowSmart Maine, a nonprofit organization based in Yarmouth that promotes sustainable economic growth statewide, the report, titled, “Charting Maine’s Future, An Action Plan for Promoting Sustainable Prosperity and Quality Places,” will be released on Oct. 5.

Authors of the report – Mark Muro and Bruce Katz of The Brookings Institution, an independent research and policy center – will travel around the state to present, discuss and answer questions on their findings and recommendations for Maine’s economy. Alan Caron, president/CEO of GrowSmart Maine, will join them.

Discussions are scheduled to take place at the following venues:

Lewiston – noon Thursday, Oct. 5, Bates Mill, Mill No. 6.

Bangor – 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, Bangor Opera House.

Waterville – 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, Waterville Opera House.
