BANGOR – Samantha Homer scored an unassisted goal with 30 seconds left in regulation Wednesday to lift Husson College to a 2-1 women’s soccer victory over the University of Maine-Farmington.
Shelby Pickering scored the 7-3-1 Eagles’ other goal and Leah Drew had eight saves on 14 shots.
Amber Murphy scored for the 6-5 Beavers and Alix Raymond and Melissa Demerchant combined for four saves on eight shots.
Maine Maritime 1, Thomas 0
At Waterville, Jessica Taylor netted the only goal of the game on a pass from Darcy Herrick seven minutes into the game to give Maine Maritime Academy of Castine the victory.
Hillary Arris made one save on five shots for the Mariners.
Shannon Proctor and Lindsay Thornton combined to make six saves on 16 shots for the Terriers.
USM 4, Framingham State 0
At Framingham, Mass., Samantha Mathieu scored two goals to lead the University of Southern Maine to victory.
Danica Martin and Caitlin Brown added a goal apiece for the 3-7 Huskies of Gorham. Meghan Ibar made 11 saves on 17 shots.
Ashley Baker stopped seven of 13 shots for Framingham State.
Colby 2, Saint Joseph’s 1
At Standish, Laura Williamson scored in the first half to become Colby College’s all-time leading scorer with 42 goals and 13 assists (92 points) in the win for the White Mules.
Katie McCabe added a goal and Liza Benson had four saves on six shots for the 6-0-2 White Mules.
Michelle Crisp scored for the 6-4 Monks and Monica Cuda stopped seven of 13 shots.
Men’s soccer
N.C. State 1, Maine 0
At Raleigh, N.C., Alan Sanchez converted a penalty kick 2:10 into the first half to lift North Carolina State past Maine.
Chris Widman had two saves on four shots for the 4-6-1 Wolfpack.
Giacomo Brunino and Ben Piotrowski combined for four saves on five shots for the 0-12 Black Bears.
Husson 2, UM-Farmington 1
At Farmington, Hiroshi Iwabuchi scored at the 98:21 mark to lift the Eagles to the overtime win.
Iwabuchi assisted on a goal by Nathan Carter for 9-1-1 Husson.
Alec Brown scored for the 3-5-2 Beavers and Brian Lemont stopped five of 13 shots.
Field hockey
UM-Farmington 1, Colby 0
At Farmington, Amanda Fortin scored unassisted in the first half to lead UMaine-Farmington past Colby of Waterville.
Kaeleigh Barker saved all four shots she faced for the Beavers.
Bates 2, Husson 1
At Bangor, Morgan Maciewicz scored on a pass from Allison Marshall with less than five minutes left in the game to lift Bates past Husson.
Marshall assisted on the tying goal by Rachel Greenwood for Bates. Sarah Sprague made four saves on nine shots for the 4-2 Bobcats of Lewiston.
Erica Dorso netted a goal for Husson early in the second half on a pass from KaroleAnne Emery. Kelly Bocchino made 12 saves on 19 shots for the 4-4 Eagles.
