NEWPORT – Megan Tilton scored the game-winning goal with 5:19 left in overtime on a pass from Christina Andrle to lift John Bapst to a 3-2 schoolgirl field hockey victory over Nokomis on Wednesday. Lauren Fish netted two goals while Tilton also recorded an assist.

NEWPORT – Megan Tilton scored the game-winning goal with 5:19 left in overtime on a pass from Christina Andrle to lift John Bapst to a 3-2 schoolgirl field hockey victory over Nokomis on Wednesday.

Lauren Fish netted two goals while Tilton also recorded an assist. Hilary Laferriere stopped six of eight shots for the 8-3 Crusaders of Bangor.

Allison Berg and Sabrina Vaillancourt each scored a goal for Nokomis. Beth Flanders made six saves on nine shots for the 4-7-1 Warriors.

Bangor 2, Brewer 0

At Brewer, Erin Johnson and Emily Quinn each netted a goal to lead Bangor to victory over Brewer.

Mackeyla Marshall-Holmes stopped all three shots she faced for the 5-8 Rams.

Angela Patterson made four saves on seven shots for the 0-9-3 Witches.

JV: Bangor 3-0

Mattanawcook 0, Orono 0

At Lincoln, Mattanawcook Academy and Orono battled to a scoreless tie through two overtime periods.

Sarah French made two saves on three shots for 4-5-3 Mattanawcook, while Christine Kittridge made six saves on 13 shots for the Red Riots.

Stearns 2, Central 1

At Millinocket, Felicia Achorn scored what proved to be the game-winning goal on a penalty corner in the second half to lead Stearns by Central of Corinth.

Mikaela Rosebush started scoring for Stearns with a goal in the first half. Deanna Michaud made 10 saves on 14 shot for the 10-1-1 Minutemen.

Brooke Washburn scored a second half goal for Central. Sam Martin made six saves on 14 shot for the 8-3-2 Red Devils.

Girls soccer

Orono 2, Hermon 1

At Hermon, Heather Woodbrey scored the game-winning goal with 29:29 remaining in the second half to lead Orono to victory.

Kate Kelley started the scoring for Orono with an unassisted goal. Brittney Pinkham made six saves on 15 shots for the 7-3-1 Red Riots.

Cheyanne Woodard netted the goal for Hermon. Megan Herbert stopped 10 of 12 shots for the 1-10-1 Hawks.

JV: 1-1

Orono 3, Piscataquis 2

At Guilford Saturday, Emily Balaban-Garber had a goal and two assists to power the Red Riots.

Balaban-Garber assisted on goals by Julie Normand and Wesley Osterhout. Brittney Pinkham made three saves on five shots.

Cyndi Currier netted two goals and Christine Davis had two assists for the Pirates. Jill Martell had 14 saves on 19 shots.

Piscataquis 4, Foxcroft 1

At Dover-Foxcroft, Victoria Tracy knocked in two goals to lead Piscataquis Community of Guilford to the win.

Jacklyn Crouse added a goal and Mallory Izbicki scored on a penalty kick for the 6-1-4 Pirates. Jill Martel had 11 saves on 12 shots.

Leslie Martin scored for the 4-4-3 Ponies and Sarah Whittemore stopped eight of 15 shots.

Washington Acad. 6, Calais 1

At East Machias, Andi Flannery scored three goals as Washington Academy cruised by Calais.

Samantha Rodriguez netted two goals while Jana Espling added one. Irene Lewey stopped nine of 10 shots for the 7-2 Raiders.

Kayla Cobb scored the goal for Calais while Stephanie Perry made five saves on 20 shots for the 7-2-1 Blue Devils.

Rockland 1, Oak Hill 0

At Rockland, Kristen Harjula scored the game-winning goal off a pass from Baillie Boggs in the first half to propel Rockland past Oak Hill of Wales.

Brittany Ross made nine saves on 12 shots for the 5-7 Tigers.

Courtney Seguin made nine saves on 14 shots for the 3-7-1 Raiders.

GSA 0, Sumner 0 (2OT)

At Blue Hill, Morgan Traxler made 38 saves on 54 shots, including one stop of a penalty shot, to help Sumner of East Sullivan earn a scoreless tie through two overtimes.

Alida Peake and Sarah Brown combined to make three saves on six shots for 9-1-2 George Stevens.

Sumner is now 4-6-1.

Boys soccer

Maranacook 2, Mount View 0

At Thorndike, Cameron Madore and Billy Irvin scored a goal each as Maranacook of Readfield blanked Mount View.

Will Bardaglio had four saves on eight shots for the 10-0-2 Black Bears.

Ross Caron stopped eight of 12 shots for the 5-4-3 Mustangs.

Bangor 0, Mt. Blue 0 (2OT)

At Farmington Tuesday, 10-1-1 Bangor outshot 6-3-3 Mt. Blue 22-7 but couldn’t get one past Cougars’ goalkeeper Joe Whalen (nine saves) and the teams battled to a scoreless tie.

Aaron Taft made two saves Bangor, ranked No. 2 in the latest Heal Point standings.

Washington Acad. 3, Woodland 1

At Woodland, Min Linn, Todd Junn and Julian Washington each recorded a goal to lead Washington Academy of East Machias to victory.

Josiah Jackson made 11 saves on 17 shots for the 8-3 Raiders.

Jeremy Burke scored on an assist by Chad James. Todd Townsend made 13 saves on 20 shots for the 7-4 Dragons.

DI-S Mariners 9, J-B Royals 1

At Jonesport, Bryant Ciomei scored three goals to lead the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners past Jonesport-Beals.

Shane Eaton and Eben Powers each scored two goals for the 6-2-2 Mariners. Dean Siebert and Peter McDonald each had one goal. Rob Brown made nine saves on 15 shots.

Harold Lyons scored for the 1-8-1 Royals. Sid Look and Jeremy Bassett combined to make 16 saves on 40 shots.
