BANGOR – Troop 301 of Bangor recently honored its newest Eagle Scouts, Adam Kearns and Douglas Farrell.

Kearns and Farrell joined forces for their Eagle project to spread an environmental message regarding river pollution caused by storm drains. They stenciled the message on nearly 400 storm drains and delivered 1,500 informational flyers to the residents of Bangor.

Kearns, son of Robert and Doreen Kearns of Bangor, is a Bangor High School senior. He starts for the football team, sings in a variety of chorus groups, participates in theater, and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Kearns has spent the last few summers as a counselor at FairHaven Christian Camp. He plans to attend college and major in physical therapy and athletic training.

Farrell, son of Gregg and Angela Farrell, is a sophomore at Bangor High School, where he is a member of the swim team and the math team. He helps teach Sunday school at St. John’s Church.

Farrell is planning a career in the sciences. His most recent Scouting adventure was an 11-day hike at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.

Troop 301, of Grace United Methodist Church in Bangor, has sponsored five new Eagle Scouts within the last 18 months.
