Volunteers sought to winterize homes

ROCKLAND – Gov. John Baldacci has announced the third year of Operation Keep ME Warm, a project of the Governor’s Office on Energy Independence that will take place Oct. 19-22.

Prequalified homeowners, who must be enrolled in LIHEAP, the low-income heating assistance program, have already been invited to participate.

More than 40 volunteers, age 14 and over, must be recruited in Knox County to help winterize homes. For details or to register a team, visit www.volunteermaine.org or contact Jen Brooks at Penquis CAP at (800) 215-4942.
