An expert on the relationship between Christianity and Islam will lead a daylong conference on Islam and cults Oct. 21 at Grace Evangelical Seminary. James Beverly, associate director of the Institute of American Religion in Santa Barbara, Calif., will speak. Beverly also is a professor at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto and a contributing editor of Christianity Today. He is the author of “Religions A to Z” and “Counterfeit Code,” a reply to Dan Brown’s “DaVinci Code.” Cost of the program, which will be held at Bangor Baptist Church on outer Broadway in Bangor, is $20 in advance or $25 at the door and $5 for lunch.
