Belfast collects 50th straight win

BELFAST – Skye Ellis and Jill Ross each recorded two goals and an assist to lead the Belfast field hockey team to its 50th consecutive win, 4-2 over Winslow in high school action Tuesday.

Britt Cummings and Kallie Aldus each tallied an assist for the 14-0 Lions. Liz Anderson made five saves on seven shots.

Ali Kriegal had a goal and an assist, and Courtney Carnes added a goal for the 7-7 Black Raiders. Emma Walters had 13 saves on 17 shots.

JV: Winslow 5-0

Camden Hills 1, Waterville 0

At Camden, Laura Schelble scored the game-winning goal 34 seconds into the first overtime as Camden Hills downed Waterville.

Dale Winsper saved all three shots she faced for the 10-4 Windjammers.

Kristen Tormollan made 10 saves on 11 shots for the Purple Panthers.

JV: Waterville 3-0

Boys soccer

Shead 0, Woodland 0 (2OT)

At Eastport, Woodland and Shead played to a scoreless tie through two overtimes.

Nick James made 11 saves on 12 shots for the 7-3-1 Dragons while Craig Hastings stopped six out of nine shots for the 7-4-2 Tigers.

Bangor Christian 6, Sumner 1

At East Sullivan, Zach Kutz and Brandon Wilcox each tallied two goals and two assists to lead Bangor Christian over Sumner.

Won Taek Oh registered a goal and assist and Jeremy Leong added a goal for the 7-5-1 Patriots. Sam McLeod had 12 saves on 26 shots.

Dereck Crocker scored off a pass from Anthony Cultrera for the 1-11-1 Tigers. Andrew Bennett stopped 18 of 40 shots.

John Bapst 4, Bucksport 1

At Bangor, Ian Bamford scored two goals to lead John Bapst past Bucksport.

Andy Stange and Nick Hubbard each netted a goal for the 11-2 Crusaders. Ethan Sale recorded four saves on eight shots.

Teddy Cooke scored the lone goal for the 3-10 Golden Bucks. Miles Bisher had 14 saves on 35 shots.

JV: John Bapst 5-1

Highview 5, Calvary Chapel 3

At Charleston, Highview Christian scored three unanswered goals in the second half to defeat Calvary Chapel.

Jonathan Reed scored two goals, including the game-winner, for the 7-2 Knights. Jonas Kramer had two goals and an assist, and Thibeut Pogorzelski added a goal. Scott Wilhite and Kramer combined to make 20 saves on 38 shots.

Rosaire Veilleux and Alex Merrill had a goal and an assist for the 10-3 Sabers of Orrington. Jon Burke notched a goal and Luke Thomas had an assist. Beau Miller made five saves on 16 shots.

Bangor 1, Old Town 0

At Old Town, Nick George’s header off a corner kick by Matt Goodell was enough for the Rams to hold off the Coyotes.

George scored 18:14 into the first half and Aaron Taft preserved the margin by making eight saves on nine shots for 12-1-1 Bangor.

Sam Petrie made 11 saves on 17 shots for the 6-6-2 Coyotes.

JV: Bangor 11-0

Brewer 9, Nokomis 0

At Brewer, Shun Sasaki scored three goals, all on headers, as Brewer shutout Nokomis of Newport.

Reid McLaughlin netted two goals and Marc Relford, Prentiss Swett, Cam Lynch and Brad Libby had a goal apiece for the 9-4-1 Witches. Joe Cookson made five saves on eight shots.

Wayne May had 12 saves on 23 shots for the 1-13 Warriors.

JV: Brewer 4-0

Hampden 8, Skowhegan 0

At Hampden, Aaron Gilio piled up four goals to power the Broncos past the Indians.

Nick Beal, Fletcher Reed, Nate Burke, and John D’Haiti added the other goals for 10-4 Hampden Academy, and Sam Wood and Jared Stephens each had an assist. Jon Lenz stopped both shots he faced.

Allan Mackay made 19 saves on 32 shots for 0-14 Skowhegan.

JV: Hampden 4-0

Hermon 5, Foxcroft 0

At Hermon, Chad Riendeau had two goals and one assist as the Hawks rolled past the Ponies.

Tim Kennerson, Colton Gross and Paul Ormsby added a goal apiece for 2-10-1 Hermon while Kevin Tarr notched two assists and Ryan Kimball one. Josh Blaine had six saves on seven shots.

Evan Bridges stopped seven out of 20 shots for 1-12 Foxcroft.

JV: Hermon 3-2

Girls soccer

Wash. Acad. 3, East Grand 0

At East Machias, Irene Lewey stopped all three shots she faced in net as Washington Academy shut out East Grand of Danforth.

Bri Nicely, Kayla Wood and Lauren Finn netted a goal apiece for the 9-2 Raiders.

Courtney Lloyd stopped 52 out of 60 shots for the 0-12 Vikings.

Bangor Christian 5, Sumner 1

At Bangor, Morgan Chasse netted four goals as Bangor Christian downed Sumner.

Katherine Bragg added a goal and Christin Pelletier had two assists. Demelza Ramirez notched an assist and Moriah Bach made five saves on seven shots for the 13-0 Patriots.

Lona Sargent scored the lone goal for the 5-8-1 Tigers. Morgan Traylor made 19 saves on 30 shots.

Penobscot Valley 4, Penquis 0

At Milo, Kelsey Lavertu made six saves on eight shots as the Howlers of Howland shut out Penquis.

Michelle Bowers, Morgan Cyr, Lindsay Durost and Casey Plourde netted a goal apiece for Penobscot Valley.

Erica Lyford saved 28 of 32 shots for the Patriots.

Nokomis 1, Brewer 0

At Newport, Rebecca Wolinski scored the only goal of the game as Nokomis held on for the win.

Laura Lyford saved all 13 shots she faced for the 2-8-5 Warriors.

Carolyn Tuck had 11 saves on 12 shots for the 3-9-2 Witches.

Bangor 8, Old Town 0

At Bangor, Erin MacDermott had two goals and one assist and Eliza Estabrook and Jenny Leach each netted two goals as Bangor cruised to its 13th win against no losses and one tie.

Caitlin Smith had a goal and two assists and Jen Rowe a goal for the Rams. Erica Tweedie, Denali Graham and Emily Heath added assists. Tawnya Godinez recorded her 10th shutout of the season, making one save on two shots.

Nicole Guay and Lauren Lebreton combined for 15 saves on 32 shots for 0-13-1 Old Town.

Lee 7, Katahdin 0

At Stacyville, Aarika Ritchie had three goals and one assist to lead Lee past Katahdin.

Kimmy Thurlow had a goal and an assist, and Brooke Harris, Amanda Gifford, and Katelin Mallet added a goal apiece for the 11-2 Pandas. Karen Bird saved five of eight shots.

Kayla Stevens stopped 16 of 28 shots for 3-8-2 Katahdin.

So. Aroostook 4, Washburn 3

At Washburn, Brittany Charette scored unassisted with 9 minutes left in regulation to lift Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook past Washburn.

Liz Goodall knocked in a pair of goals and Evangelina Goodall added another for the 10-4 Warriors. Erin Caswell had eight saves on 13 shots.

Alex Bird scored one goal and assisted on another by Kristen Goupille for the 11-2 Beavers. Erica McDougall added a goal and Kelsee McLaughlin an assist. Amber Palmer saved five of 18 shots.
