Anah Shrine Keystone Kops dinner auction

The Anah Shrine Keystone Kops will hold their first annual dinner auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Spectacular Event Center.

The silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m., the dinner at 7 p.m., and the live auction at 8:30 p.m.

The organization is seeking donations of items and crafts for the live auction and silent auction. Also needed are individuals or businesses to advertise in their program book. Volunteers to help out the night of the fundraiser will be welcome, as will financial contributions to help cover event expenses.

The donation for the dinner auction is $25 a person. Send checks to Keystone Kops, c/o Shawn Cowan, 3026 Route 2, Hermon 04401.

The Keystone Kops are one of the most active fundraising units of the Anah Shrine, contributing to the 22 Shrine hospitals which serve 123,000 children a year.

Maine Maritime Academy

Maine Maritime Academy will hold an open house for prospective students and their parents on Saturday, Oct. 21. Registration will take place 7:30-8:30 a.m. in the Harold Alfond Student Center. A continental breakfast and lunch are free to participants.

Jeffrey C. Wright, director of admissions, and other college officers will conduct programs on academic majors, extracurricular activities and options in student lifestyles.
