Occupation: Accountant and tax practitioner; woodworker – wooden toys and other wood-craft items; both are current businesses

Experience: More than 30 years in accounting field with specialization in taxation, the last 20 self-employed. Former two-term mayor of Calais. Member of Rotary, Lioness and church ladies group.

Top three priorities if elected:

? Lower taxes without cutting services through accountability in spending.

? Create a more business-friendly environment with the elimination of burdensome and unnecessary regulations and bolster Washington County economy through creation of good jobs.

? Health care costs are unreasonable. We can create affordable health care by allowing more competition in the market and have the state stop trying to be a provider-competitor as with Dirigo Health.

? Economic development and jobs. Must include infrastructure: transportation and communication. In order to expand business we must have well-maintained road and communication systems.

? Affordable and sustainable energy: Oil energy is getting expensive and will be limited. We must look at alternatives that have a sustained renewability.

? Accessibility for quality, affordable health care.
