ORONO – Nicole Emery scored on a Kristen Nealy assist at 34:48 to lead the University of Maine field hockey team to a 1-0 win over the University of New Hampshire Friday.

Rebecca Giroux blocked both shots for the 6-8 Black Bears.

Margaux Shute made three saves on four shots for 1-12 UNH.

Volleyball

Albany 3, Maine 1

At Orono, Blair Buchanan had 43 set assists, 16 digs, and two blocked shots to lead the University of Albany past the University of Maine, 28-30, 30-27, 33-31, 30-16.

Ashley DeNeal had 15 digs and 10 kills for 4-1 Albany and Shelby Goldman added 17 digs and 13 kills.

Lindsay Allman led the 2-3 Black Bears with 18 kills and 16 digs. Shelly Seipp had 56 set assists and nine digs and Jody Connacher added 28 digs. Jessica Wolfenden had 15 kills and Brittany Kiehl totaled 14 kills.
