Husson splits weekend games

BANGOR – Elisha Dorso scored off a Nicole Chapman assist with 47 seconds left in regulation to lead Husson College to a 2-1 field hockey victory over Castleton State College Sunday.

Western New England College beat Husson 4-2 on Saturday.

In Sunday’s game, Erica Dorso scored in the first half on a KaroleAnne Emery assist for the 7-5 Eagles. Kelly Bocchino stopped nine of 10 shots.

Carolyn Griggs scored in the second half for 4-9 Castleton State. Trishe Clark made 12 saves on 15 shots.

In Saturday’s game, Cori Eggert scored two goals to lead Western New England College by Husson.

Allison Jameson had a goal and an assist for the 8-6 Golden Bears and Emily Popham added a goal. Emilie Donka blocked eight of 11 shots.

Elisha Dorso scored a goal and assisted another for the Eagles. Erica Dorso added a goal and Bocchino made four saves on 13 shots.

Keene State 2, USM 0

At Gorham, Kat Trimmer and Steph Georgevits each tallied a goal in the first 10 minutes of the game as Keene State blanked University of Southern Maine Saturday.

Sarah Joyce made eight saves on 12 shots for the 11-4 Owls.

Allie Hill made eight saves on 16 shots for the 7-8 Huskies.

Boston College 2, Maine 0

At Orono, Crystal Frates scored an unassisted goal at 41:20 in the second half to help lead sixth-ranked Boston College past the University of Maine on Sunday.

Julia Berkowitz stopped both shots for the 12-3 Eagles.

Rebecca Giroux made eight saves on 10 shots for the 6-9 Black Bears.
